First of all, I want to wish you all a Happy New Year, full of good moments and good reads! I appreciate you very much, and I hope 2022 is kind to you and your family and friends.
Today I want to share with you today all my reading goals for 2022! I will be posting a “Revisiting my reading Goals for 2021” soon, so stay tuned for that.
So after some thought, I put together all the book related goals I would like to achieve in 2022. Here they are:
- Read 60 books
This is not necessarily a new goal on my yearly list, but it’s the goal I usually take more seriously. Reading 60 books per year (5 per month) is my bare minimum! I’ll be happy if I end up reading more, but I’m also happy if I only read at least 60 books in 2022.
- Reduce book collection to 200 (or less) books
I have A LOT of books. As I’m writing this post, I currently have 262 books on my shelves. I have the bad habit of spending too much money on books, and I want to change that about me. I want to be a more conscious consumer when it comes to books. I want to focus on the books I already have and start reducing my collection, so I won’t be buying as many books as I usually do. It will be a challenge though!
- Read 30 books from my physical TBR
Like I said in the previous point, I want to focus on my physical TBR, so I will be reading more of the books I already have. I think 30 books is a good number to start off with!
- Read 3 fantasy series I have always wanted to read
There are so many series out there I want to read, but I sometimes struggle with fantasy series because they’re (usually) so long. My TBR list is FILLED with all the ones I never got to read, so in 2022 I want to go through some of them, no matter the size. For example, some of the fantasy series I want to read are: Dune, The Lord of the Rings, A Curse so Dark and Lonely, Red Queen, City of Bones, Shadow and Bone, Ready Player One, Throne of Glass, and many more!
- Read all the books sent/lent to me
I have a few books that were sent to me by authors and publishers, so I want to read those in 2022. Not only that, but I have also accumulated a lot of books that were lent to me by friends. I want to read them all and return them afterwards so I’ll have more space on my shelves and time to read my own books.
- Read 3 big books (>500 pages)
If you read my “My Fear of Big Books” post, you know I’m intimidated by big books. I want to work on this fear of mine because I don’t want to miss out on all the amazing stories out there! So one of my goals is to read 3 big books in 2022.
I’m feeling confident! I think all the reading goals set for 2022 are both challenging and achievable! Tell me about you! Do you have any reading goals for 2022? Let me know!
See you in my next post 🙂
